Contracted to create an intranet-based Manager’s Guide to provide a central resource to lend consistency to global operations. Client is an international software company with semi-autonomous regions; the project was commissioned by the global human resources vice president and the intranet programming was done by the corporate IT department.
- Researched, solicited, organized, negotiated, wrote, and edited content over the course of a year
- Designed content flow; tested sample intranet site for online use across the world
- Developed relationships with key global and regional HR directors and legal advisors
- Collected and reviewed all existing practices and written guidelines available; developed timeline
- Coordinated global phone meetings with regional HR heads and legal advisors
- Designed content flow; wrote drafts; created test site
- Facilitated negotiation on cultural and legal variations from existing corporate employment standards
- Revised content plan to include numerous sub-sites for countries within regions
to address differing cultures and languages - Coordinated translators, support staff, and IT staff on implementation; addressed security concerns
